    Confer is the Australian web site where you can share news, articles and interesting content that you find on the web. Members of Confer can discuss submitted articles, share views and vote on submissions. Articles are promoted to the front page based on popularity (member votes) creating, in effect, an online news channel powered by the community.

    It's a great way to discover content on the web and also have your say on the latest issues in the news.

    Do I need to join to use Confer
    Joining is easy, free, quick and everyone is welcome! You can read all the submissions and commentary without the need to join although if you wish to participate in the way of submitting, having your say or voting on content then you will need to join. It's also worth noting that we won't share your email with anyone, Confer hates spam too!

    A large part of Confer is the social aspect. It also offers the ability to compare views, discuss and deliberate with a community unrestricted by geography. You can also network with other members, create your own profile and if you like someones submissions or commentary you can even add them as a friend!

    What type of articles should I submit?
    If you found it interesting, engaging, funny or even controversial why not share that! It can be an article, a news headline, news story, a blog post, a movie review, a video or even a recipe for your favorite Aussie BBQ salad! Confer has a range of topic categories and encourages diversity. Australian content or content relative to Australians is prefered although in no way mandatory. Stories must be in english.

    How do articles get to the front page or 'Published'?
    That's entirely up to the community. After receiving a certain amount of votes it will go from 'Upcoming News' to 'Published' and if your article really rocks and gets the votes it goes front page!

    Adult content - Language?
    Keep it clean, very clean! Remember it's a place for everyone.

    Online Marketers - Self Promoters
    Confer doesnt discriminate against anyone - the community is the judge! If you deliver value then value normally returns, you know the whole karma thing! ALTHOUGH - any form of spam will not be tolerated nor would any form of 'gaming' the system.

    So is Confer web 2.0 and beta n' all that?
    Sure, why not! Seriously though, like any new site it is a work in progress and if errors or useability issues are discovered please let us know via the Contact Page.

    There is no advertising on the site?
    Something for the future, revenue sharing is also being investigated.

    Yawn. Nah, Aussie mate! Ya know, couple beers she'll be right mate and give those snags a turn on the way to the esky will'ya. Seriously, there is an evergrowing amount of social content sharing sites, where Confer has the point of difference by being an Australian site for Australians.
